Hermann Maier Star Challenge 2026

The popular charity celebrity race was held again in Flachau in 2026 and further developed this year:

For the first time, the event was broadcast live not only on ORF1, but also on Swiss television, SRF2, during prime time. The live broadcast reached peak viewership of up to 890,000 in Austria. The Swiss broadcast brought in approximately 220,000 additional viewers. Another highlight was the live coverage by the Ö3 morning show, which broadcast from Flachau for two days.

A central focus was the first-ever official competition between Austria and Switzerland, which attracted considerable attention with numerous ski legends from both nations. The field of participants was complemented by prominent figures from sports, entertainment, and culture.

In addition, a top-class music lineup featuring folkshilfe feat. AVEC, Julian le Play, and Sportfreunde Stiller created a special atmosphere in the finish area of the Hermann Maier World Cup course.
